Enchantment of Los Altos

San Francisco artist, Brian Barneclo, is known primarily for large scale murals and a style that is instantly recognizable. Brian’s shorthand language of compressed space, encoded with letterform and personal iconography translates into this work which captures a birds-eye view of Los Altos and the surrounding hills. The mural is painted on a side wall at 260 State Street in downtown Los Altos. Brian studied Fine Art at Indiana University (BA 1995), but popular and street cultures have just as much if not more influence on his output which captures a feeling of being “alive and colorful”.

Brian’s patrons include corporations like Google, Facebook, Visa, as well as beloved local San Francisco establishments such as NOPA restaurant and St. Francis Fountain. In 2019 he contributed a 110 foot mural to the concourse level of the Chase Center, home of the Golden State Warriors.

How did he paint it?
